Navel Oranges
This seedless orange is sweet and juicy and ripens in the early part of the citrus season. The navel orange grows a miniature “twin” that develops under the peeling of the orange at its base (opposite the stem). From the outside, it resembles the human navel.
Tangelos (Honeybells)
The ever popular tangelo is a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit. The result is a very juicy, tangy tasting fruit with a loose skin, making it easier to peel than oranges.
Temple Oranges
This fruit has a bright orange rind that is thick and rough. A cross between a tangerine and an orange, temple oranges have a lot of seeds and are easy to peel. Because of their thick rind, they are a good choice for zesting.
Ruby Red Grapefruit
An all-season citrus that has a delicious, refreshingly sweet flavor. Some grapefruit earns a reputation of being bitter, but not Ruby Red.
